E-way Bill Limit extended to Rs. 2 Lakhs in Rajasthan w.e.f. 1st April 2022

The E-way bill limit as prescribed in the State of Rajasthan is Rs. 1 Lakh for movement of goods within the state. But, the Government of Rajasthan has announced a major change in the E-way Bill limit by making amendments in Notification No. F.17(131) ACCT/GST/2017/3743 dated 06.08.2018. The amendment has been made on 24th March 2022 and is effective from 1st April 2022.

According to the amendment, the E-way Bill limit has been increased to Rs. 2 Lakhs where the goods movement commences and terminates within the area of the same city without crossing the area of the city. However, this limit shall not be applicable on goods such as chewing tobacco, khaini, cigarettes, bidi, etc., pan masala, wood, and articles of wood and iron and steel.

Further, the limit of Rs. 1 Lakh shall continue to prevail in case of movement of goods from one city to another city within the State of Rajasthan. Thus, there will be 3 thresholds for e-way bill compliances now in Rajasthan:

  • In case of movement of goods from Rajasthan to other states: Rs. 50,000
  • In case of movement of goods from one city to another city in Rajasthan: Rs. 1 Lakh
  • In case of movement of goods within the same city: Rs. 2 Lakhs
