Taxpayers can now pay GST online through Credit Card/ Debit Card and Unified Payments Interface (UPI)- GSTN Advisory
The GSTN has been constantly striving to make GST filing & payment process more & more hassle-free. Earlier, the payment of GST could be made on GST portal through net-banking. To make GST payments easier, two new facilities/ mode of payments have now been made available for the taxpayers in addition to net-banking. These are:
- Payments through Cards (Credit/ Debit Card)
- Unified Payment Interface (UPI)
Payment through cards include mainly Mastercard, Visa, RuPay and Diners (Credit Card) issued by any Indian Bank. Payments through CC/DC/UPI can be made through Kotak Mahindra Bank irrespective of CC/DC issued by any Indian Bank. Other banks are in the process of integration. According to GSTN, the facility for payment through card/ UPI is presently available in 10 states and the remaining states/ UTs shall soon join as expected.
